Pre-wedding Events at the Tea Room are filled with traditional Victorian ambiance and our staff will pamper you and your guests in a true royal manner befitting a Queen’s Tea. Share the experience of a “Breakfast Tea” or a “Chocolate High Tea” (see Menu Page) with your loved ones, kindling a new memory as music plays softly in the background and candles burn at each table.

The Tea Room at Port Gamble has an environment which strongly supports all of the celebrations associated with an upcoming Wedding. Special Menu's can be customized to fit your specific desires or a standard High Tea can be served also to bring in the spirit of the occasion.  Browse through the ideas below and find what best fits your needs, and let us do the rest for you.

Other Pre-Wedding Events

Bridesmaids' Party: Throughout the pre-wedding months, your bridesmaids have likely been a huge help to you as you have planned and shopped for your Wedding Day. What better way than to say "Thank You" with a traditional High Tea? This is also the perfect time to give them their "Thank You" gifts.

A Wedding Brunch or Breakfast:  Hosting a light breakfast or early lunch is a great way for a friend or relative to participate in the wedding festivities, as long as it is not scheduled too near to the time of the wedding. If the wedding is late in the afternoon or evening, it will entertain your out-of-town guests while you take care of last-minute wedding-day preparations. Neither the family of the Bride or the Groom is expected to attend. However, members may participate if time permits.

Rehearsal Dinner: With many young Brides and Grooms deciding to be married in the Church in Port Gamble, what better spot to have the Rehearsal Dinner than at the Tea Room, a romantic location to share with your family and friends. Once everyone has assembled, get things started off with a warm introduction of family and friends to each other. This is also the perfect time to give your attendants their "Thank You" gifts if you have not already done so. And don't forget to salute your love and your families. We will make this time comfortable, relaxing and satisfying for everyone. Although we normally close at 5:00 pm, special arrangements can be made for a "Closed House" party....one where only those you invite are allowed in.  Our staff will be happy to treat each guest as family as we help make this one last party a time to remember.

Themed Shower Ideas
Bridal Showers are usually planned a month or two before the Wedding.

Lingerie or Personal Showers: These showers are fun. Gifts can include all the beautiful things that most people don't purchase for themselves. They help prepare the trousseau for the honeymoon. Gift ideas include lacy nightgowns, camisoles, perfumes, bath accessories or earrings.

Linen Showers: These Showers are always useful. You may want to let everyone know a color scheme and it can be helpful to let the guests know where Bridal Registries have been done. Gift ideas include monogrammed towels, a scale, bathroom sets, sheets, pillows, quilts and blankets.

Kitchen Showers or "The Clueless Gourmet" Shower:  This is a great Shower, especially for a co-ed type party. Browsing through a local kitchen or department store can provide endless ideas on practical and fun gifts ranging from inexpensive to more expensive appliances. One fun idea is to have each guest bring a recipe that goes with the item that they are bringing, IE: a Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe with cookies sheets or Quiche Lorraine recipe with a quiche dish. A recipe box can also be provided by the hostess to put all the cards in.

Comfort Zone Showers: Help the Bride-to-be feel relaxed and pampered by giving her baskets with shampoo's, lotions, candles, towels, candles, perfumes and perhaps a gift certificate to a Day Spa to be used prior to her big day!! Soothing CD's of relaxing music will likely also be especially appreciated.

That's Entertainment Showers: Provide the Guest of Honor with items that she can enjoy along with her soon to be husband after their wedding. Gift ideas include: a VCR or DVD Player with popular romantic movies, a chess set or other board games, Sports, Movie or Theater Tickets. Be sure and include some Microwave Popcorn and Candy Bars to go along with the entertainment theme.

Holiday Theme Showers:  Each guest is assigned a Holiday and brings a present to help the couple celebrate it. Gift ideas include Christmas Tree Ornaments, Champagne Flutes for New Years, Heart shaped Cookie Cutters for Valentines Day or Garden Tools for Arbor Day. Be creative in your gifts. This can be just as much fun for the guests as it is for the Bride-to-be.
